Try Church Again

Leap of Faith Church is independent of any denomination.
It’s inclusive, diverse, and glad to be in ministry to and with all people, working with our neighbors to make life better for all.
The main thing, though, is our shared faith in Jesus Christ and the new life he promises those who follow him.

Leap of Faith Church recognizes a single class of membership, which allows for all persons to be treated equally, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity, with respect to  sacramental worship, marriage, and ordination.

History
Leap of Faith Church was formed in April 2016 as a group of friends and neighbors gathered around the table in Gregg and Virgie Holbrook’s farmhouse kitchen to share their hope for a worship community that would be welcoming to all people. The hope quickly became reality, and after worshiping for several weeks at the Holbrook house, LOFC moved first to the Pottsboro Public Library and then, in October 2016, to the Pottsboro Middle School cafeteria.

As the church added ministries for children and classes for teens and adults as well as fellowship opportunities for all, it expanded into the Pottsboro Middle School gym, where it developed the unique and noteworthy Leap of Faith Band, offering the church worship music in a variety of styles including bluegrass, folk, rock, disco, and blues as well as more traditional and familiar hymns. The professional musicians of the band are often joined by members of the Leap of Faith Music Collective.

In September 2019, LOFC moved into the building it now occupies at 5615 N. FM 1417 in Sherman, which gives the church a home of its own with doors that open to provide hospitality to all.
