Adult Sunday School not your cup of tea? Bring your kids to their Sunday School classes, bring your Sunday paper, and sit down for a quiet cup of coffee in the fellowship area. The coffee and donuts will be here ready for you. And if you find some other folks to visit with who are just hanging out — well, that’s fine, too.
Look what's new
for LOFC kids!
Sunday, December 29, was Belinda Spears' last day to lead KidZone children's worship during the 11:00 a.m. worship service. LOFC is grateful for all she's done to teach the children of the church.
This means some changes in our Sunday morning schedule. We don't know yet whether they'll be temporary or permanent since we don’t have a leader yet for KidZone.
Beginning this Sunday, January 5
Check your child's age
to find out what options are available
through the morning.
Children's worship packets will also be available
at the entrance to our worship space.
Join this fun group (except Santa) at the
White Elephant Fondue Party
Grades 5 - 12
This Sunday, January 5, 5 - 7 p.m.
Summer and Wes’s house, 1016 Fountain Creek, Pottsboro
We are not fonduing elephants exactly — we’re having fondue (Summer will be in touch to see what you might like to contribute) and exchanging white elephants — a gift from the past that you’re ready to pass along, the odder the better. For info: Summer, 214.223-5078
FunDRaiser Fellowship Evening
Wednesday, January 8, come and go 5 - 7 p.m.
Panera, Town Center in Sherman
It’s just a friendly, relaxed evening with LOFC friends — no tables to set up, no food to prepare, no dishes to wash. It couldn’t be easier. Panera returns a portion of the cost of your meal to LOFC, but this is really just for fun! Invite the neighbors, and bring a friend.

Can You Help?
for Leap of Faith
Love people? Our church is looking for just the right person to staff our office and serve as secretary to the pastor and receptionist for the church. This staff member will provide clerical support for church staff, assistance to visitors, guests, and church members, recruit volunteers, do some bookkeeping, and oversee building management. In addition, we'll look to this person for excellent computer skills (experience with Apple products and QuickBooks is important), creativity, attention to detail, level-headed (and sometimes fast) decision making, and the ability to work without supervision. Flexibility and dependability are important as is the willingness to take on new challenges and keep learning new skills.
Info: Virgie, 903.821.4505 or email@example.com
Football, soccer ball, basketball
Our kids have asked if we can get these for them to use out in the backyard. If you have some you can pass along or want to buy a new one, just put it under the LOFC Christmas tree this Sunday.
Changing table needed for nursery
As we settle into our new building, two of our biggest needs are for a crib and wall-mounted changing table for the nursery. Because of safety considerations, these need to be new so that they conform to certain requirements. If you’d like to provide either or both of these items, please write a check for $200.00 (crib) or $150.00 (changing table), drop it in the offering plate, and let us do the purchasing. Be sure to designate the check for “crib” or “changing table” or simply “nursery” so that your gift can be used for either.
Flowers for 2020
January 19, 26
If you’d like to bring flowers on an upcoming Sunday in memory or in honor of a loved one, to the glory of God, or just because, the 2020 sign up sheet is on a clipboard at the info table in the entryway.
All you need to do is bring the flowers you choose on the Sunday morning you choose, then they are yours to take home and enjoy after the service.
